All Saints follows the lives of the staff and patients at the fictional All Saints Western General Hospital, set in Sydney.

From Season 7, the storylines move to the newly created ER department where Meg Gordon was given the brief to design the new look emergency unit uniforms.

The costume design process involved defining and creating a stylised contemporary look, updating the colour palette and creating costumes that could be adapted to the style and shape of any current or new cast, and stand up to constant wear and tear.

The new ER logo was used to link the uniforms across a variety of styles and colours to suit a character’s personality and physique, as well as sit naturally in the newly designed ER set, by production designer Ben Bangay.
